The Preschool Place and Kindergarten
The Preschool Place and Kindergarten provides a safe, developmentally appropriate, nurturing environment that promotes social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth, as well as a positive self image and a love of learning.
Kindergarten students "traveled" to China to learn more about Chinese culture in their World Studies program. Students created puppets, undulating dragons, colorful masks and drums as they learned about the dragon dance, a dance that is performed during Lunar New Year celebrations. Kindergarteners also learned about the Great Wall of China, the Xian Terracotta Warriors, and the symbolism of the 5 stars on the Chinese national flag. Students showed off their hard work before boarding their plane to the next destination.
Today the 3s classes hosted a lovely celebration to honor the mothers, grandmothers, and special ladies in their students' lives. Students performed a song for the attendees before enjoying a delicious brunch together.
This week, the 2s classes are learning about farm animals. From farm-themed crafts and stories to an innovative activity where students had a chance to “milk” a cow, students have been immersed in farm life. The highlight of the week was meeting some of Mrs. Grecco’s farm animals, Bun the bunny and Stormy the hen.
