The Preschool Place and Kindergarten provides a safe, developmentally appropriate, nurturing environment that promotes social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth, as well as a positive self image and a love of learning.

To wrap up their celebration of Earth Week, Mrs. Lisanti and Mrs. Rich's students were asked to take an object that would normally be thrown away or recycled and "up-cycle" it into something new. From hats, necklaces, pencil organizers, birdhouses and feeders, students were very resourceful and creative with their designs. They loved sharing their projects with the class. This week, PSP&K is celebrating Earth Day! Students are learning different ways that they can help be friends to the Earth, through recycling, up-cycling, resource conservation, and protecting plants and animals. From making crafts, to planting seeds, to simply enjoying being outside together, students participated in many activities to honor our natural world. Recently, Ms. Dayana's class did a science experiment showing how water flows up the stem of a flower. In order to visualize this, students took turns adding food coloring to the small vases of water containing cut daisies. Over time, the colored water flowed up through the stem and tinged the petals with color. Students loved watching the flowers change before their eyes! ... See MoreSee Less
